Lets have more institutional investors looking at the regions

Large parts of the UK are being neglected by investors in commercial real estate. With the economy showing encouraging signs it is surely about time the large institutional investors looked to the regions as well as chasing the same properties and opportunities in London as everyone else.

The South West economy, in particular, is looking stronger and although large lot sizes are uncommon there are plenty of other perhaps more secondary investments that offer good security and good prospects for future growth.

Institutional funders need to consider more investment in the regions and consider funding development schemes that for the last 5 years have been lying idle. Bath, rather surprisingly has significant areas of vacant land primarily owned by the Local Authority that would really benefit from some of the large institutional investors financial clout to kick start development.
